Walis For NY Assembly 09

About Christopher Walis
Christopher Walis is running for NYS Assembly District 09. A full-time Assistant Store Manager at a local grocery store at just 26 years old, he's learned the hard way that Long Island is no longer affordable. With this position, he will make his district more affordable, so no Long Islander, young or old, is priced out of their home.

Key Positions
Affordable Housing
Several generations of Long Islanders are seeing no future here on Long Island. A lack of affordable housing means that not only has the younger population moved away, but older generations are struggling with rising property taxes. No matter what your background is, Long Island is increasingly becoming unlivable.
Human Rights Without Compromise
Safeguarding groups that have been continuously persecuted in our current times:

Protecting Trans Youth from being targeted by local school boards and elected officials.

Ensuring that Immigrant communities are safe from ICE
Environmental Preservation
Protecting Our Environment:
Ensuring the quality of our Ground Water From Toxic Plumes
Making sure local parks and preserves are kept clean.
Removing the toxic algal blooms found in South Shore waters.
How I've Gotten Involved with My Community

Town Halls and Forums
Chris is focused on community outreach and has hosted a town hall to directly hear from community members. With this position, he'll maintain this dedication to listening to the community's needs to guide his work.

Protesting For Change
Involved in various local community protests, he's protested alongside groups such as Islip Forward and individuals like Lt. Governor Antonio Delgado to make the community a better place for all.

A Protector of the LGBTQIA+ Community
Identifying as gay man himself, he's done with the scapegoating of LGBTQIA+ members to further crooked agendas. He's taken on local attempts to do so such as the Massapequa School Board and their unlawful attempt to bar Trans Youth from using the bathroom on taxpayer dime.
